The Studio Recording & Music Production course is ideal for people wanting to explore and develop their home recording and music production skills. Students will use & explore mixing desks (digital & analogue), MIDI controllers, multi-track recording via computer and linear hard disk recorders, monitoring & fold-back systems, samplers, and outboard FX at Rickmansworth School’s new, purpose built recording studio facility. All of this takes place within the latest sequencing environment using a Mac based system.
- Recording techniques using Cubase, Logic and possibly ProToolsMicrophone types & techniques MIDI, sampling, sequencing (both Audio & MIDI)Digital editing, mixing and mastering Arranging and producing music
- Breakdown of the styles, sounds and techniques used in the production of the tracks, and how to recreate them
The course runs on Monday evenings at Rickmansworth School.

Matty Earles teaches the Studio Recording & Music Production course. Matty holds qualifications in both Music Technology and Sound Engineering and has worked in a variety of roles within the music industry. As A&R Coordinator for Good Looking Records, Matty worked with artists such as DJ LTJ Bukem. His knowledge of the technical side of the industry is comprehensive thanks to a job with Turnkey, one of Europe’s largest music technology suppliers. Matty has also worked within education both at the University of Hertfordshire and Rickmansworth School.
